Dr. Henry Punzi specializes in the complex area of hypertension, working for the last 20 years both in private practice and in clinical research at the Trinity Hypertension Research Institute. There are 50,000,000 people with hypertension in the United States, and only 29 percent of these have their blood pressure under control. This is in part due to the inadequate ways that blood pressure is routinely measured. Punzi has implemented a unique monitoring procedure designed to accurately measure a patient’s blood pressure for 24 hours. The sophisticated device records a patient’s blood pressure at work and from the convenience of their home, providing critical diagnostic information that is otherwise often difficult to accurately compile.
      Punzi is one of a few physicians nationwide to provide this service. A fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacology, Punzi is a member of the Council for High Blood Pressure Research of the American Heart Association, the American Society of Hypertension, and the American Society for Clinica Pharmacology and Therapeutics. In collaboration with his wife, Connie Punzi, he has published numerous articles and a book on hypertension. Recognized for his expertise, Punzi serves as the chairman of the editorial committee of the Dallas Medical Journal. He also serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Human Hypertension and the American Journal of Hypertension as well as several other prestigious medical publications. Punzi currently lectures on the topic of hypertension across the United States, Central and South America, Europe, and Asia.
